Best Eyebrow Products 2026: Pro Picks for Every Brow | GG
We do not run affiliate links at our Milford studio. These are the actual brow products we recommend to clients in 2026, organized by brow type, age, and…
I do not take affiliate fees. I do not get paid by any brow brand. After 20 years working on brows in Milford, my professional reputation depends on giving honest recommendations, and that includes about products my clients use at home.
This is the actual 2026 list I give to clients in the chair. Organized by what they tell me about their brows, not by what is on a billboard.
Why We Wrote This List
There are dozens of brow products on every shelf, and almost none of the editorial reviews disclose financial relationships properly. Even worse, many “best of” lists rotate based on which brand sent press kits that quarter.
I tested every product on this list either personally or by watching it work on dozens of clients across our Milford and Connecticut client base over the past 12 to 18 months.
> “If I would not put it on my own daughter’s face, it does not go on this list,” says GG.
Quick legend before we start:
- Cost tier: $ under 15 dollars, $$ 15 to 30, $$$ over 30
- Skin compatibility: noted where relevant
- Permanent makeup safe: green check if safe to use after the 30-day healing window
Best Brow Pencils 2026
Pencils are the workhorse of any brow routine. The two we recommend most often have not changed much over the past 3 years because they are simply the best in the category.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($$$, PMU safe)
Ultra-fine 0.08 mm retractable tip. Slightly drier formula that works particularly well on oily skin and Connecticut humidity. Available in 12 shades, which is more than most lines. The shade range includes very fair Taupe and very deep Granite, both of which we use frequently.
Best for: sparse brows, oily skin, anyone who needs hairstroke precision.
Watch out for: shade matching at counter under fluorescent lighting almost always reads too warm. Shop in natural light if possible.
Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($$$, PMU safe)
Similar tip diameter to the Brow Wiz but slightly creamier. Pigment payoff per stroke is higher, which works for very fair clients who need visible color from a single pass. The waterproof claim is real. This pencil survives Connecticut summer humidity better than most.
Best for: very fair brows, humid weather, clients who want one-pass coverage.
Watch out for: dries out faster than the Brow Wiz once opened. Replace every 8 to 10 months.
Honest Skip: NYX Micro Brow Pencil
It is fine. Not bad. But the tip wears down faster than the price difference suggests, and the shade range under fluorescent retail lighting is consistently misleading. If budget is a concern, Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim is a better cheaper option.
Best Brow Pomades 2026
Pomades are for clients who want stronger definition or fuller coverage in less time than pencil hairstrokes allow.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade ($$, PMU safe after 30 days)
The category benchmark for years and still the one we recommend most. Setting time of 60 to 90 seconds after application, after which it does not budge. Survives swimming, sweating, and Connecticut beach days at the Milford waterfront.
Best for: full coverage, photo days, weddings, anyone with sparse front-of-brow.
Watch out for: aggressive pigment payoff means a light hand. We tell clients to start with about 30 percent of what looks right on the brush, then build up.
Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade ($, PMU safe after 30 days)
Drugstore option that genuinely competes with the Dipbrow at less than half the price. Slightly less waterproof but otherwise comparable. Shade range is narrower (8 shades versus Dipbrow’s 11) but covers the most common needs.
Best for: budget-conscious clients, beginners learning pomade application, backup for travel.
Watch out for: very slightly creamier formula can settle into texture on mature skin.
Best Brow Gels 2026
Brow gels set hairs in place. Some are tinted, some clear. Both have a place.
Glossier Boy Brow ($$, PMU safe)
The category benchmark for tinted brow gel since around 2017 and still going strong in 2026. The brush is small, which forces a lighter application than larger wands. The formula is flexible rather than rigid, which keeps brows looking like brows rather than helmet hair.
Best for: natural fullness, casual everyday wear, clients who do not want full pomade coverage.
Watch out for: shade range is limited (4 shades). If you fall between shades, lean toward the lighter option.
Benefit Gimme Brow+ ($$$, PMU safe)
Tiny fibers in the formula that grab onto existing hair and add visible thickness. The fibers are realistic enough that the result reads as “more brow,” not “product on brow.” Excellent for clients with patchy areas.
Best for: patchy brows, recovering microblading clients in the maintenance phase, mature brows.
Watch out for: fibers can flake at end of long days. Touch up at hour 8 if you need it to look fresh into evening.
Honest Inclusion: Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($$, PMU safe)
If you want brows held in place without any added color, this is the cleanest option in 2026. Pairs well with healed microblading or with a previous pencil pass. Sets soft enough not to crackle.
Best Brow Soaps 2026
Brow soap had a moment in 2020. It is now a permanent fixture for a reason.
West Barn Co Soap Brows ($$, PMU safe)
The original brand to popularize the soap brow look at scale. The formula is straightforward soap and lanolin. The hold is strong enough for editorial brows but soft enough to comb through. Vegan version available.
Best for: feathery brows, naturally straight brow hair, the editorial fluffy look.
Watch out for: setting time is real. Brush in your direction immediately, then leave alone for 60 seconds.
Wunderbrow Wunder2 Brow Soap ($, PMU safe)
Cheaper alternative that performs almost identically. Pan size is smaller, but the hold is comparable. We recommend this to clients who want to try the look before committing to the higher price point.

Products We Stopped Recommending in 2026
Worth flagging the changes from our 2024 list.
- Microblading kits sold on Amazon: We have seen multiple clients harmed by attempting at-home microblading from kits. Never. Period.
- Brow tints labeled “permanent”: Henna brow tints sold as semi-permanent often contain undisclosed dyes (PPD) that can cause severe contact dermatitis. We have treated 3 clients in 2025 alone for reactions to these.
- Anastasia Brow Definer: We previously recommended this. The 2024 reformulation made it crumblier and less reliable. We now point clients toward the Brow Wiz instead.
A Real Routine: 30-Second Brows
For clients who want one practical routine, this is the one we recommend most often:
1. Brush brows up with the spoolie end of your pencil.
2. Pencil in 5 to 10 hairstrokes only at the front and tail (not the middle).
3. Set with Glossier Boy Brow in your tone.
4. Done.
Total time: under 30 seconds. Total cost in product per use: about 12 cents. Looks better than 90 percent of what we see walking through Milford on a daily basis.
What If You Want to Skip Daily Product Entirely
This is the conversation that often leads clients to permanent makeup. If you are spending 5 plus minutes on brows daily, that adds up to 30 hours a year. For many of our Milford, Orange, New Haven, and Fairfield clients, microblading or combo brows pay back the time investment within the first 6 months.
Permanent makeup does not eliminate every brow product. Most clients still use a clear gel for special occasions and the occasional pencil pass on sparse-brow days. But the daily 5-minute routine drops to 30 seconds or zero.
